For the Children's Sake Foundation has
given a Seed Grant of $1,000 to St Joseph's School in rural Uganda.
Our relationship with St Joseph's began
in 2006, when its founder, Mr. Michael Nsamba, heard about attended
our teacher training session to occur in Kenya, and took a bus over
to attend. He later became our Uganda contact for arranging training
sessions in that country, and helps maintain contacts between FTCSF
and the schools who have attended training.
Michael has a sincere desire to serve
orphans and vulnerable children with a solid education and Christian
worldview. In March, 2009 he began renting a two room building and
founded St Joseph's School to serve children that have no other
school available within walking distance. Michael cares so much
about making education accessible to the poor that he takes chickens,
produce or goats in place of tuition.
St Joseph's is faithfully serving
children, but the space they are renting is inadequate and Michael
has bigger dreams for his students. He has purchased a parcel of
land, paid to have blueprints designed for a school building and
gained construction permission from the government all the while
prayerfully believing that God would provide the funds to build.
FTCSF was blessed to be able to help
him with a Seed Grant of $1000. He′ll use this to fund the
beginning of construction of a three classroom block of the planned
building.
We will continue to support St Joseph's
through our teacher training program. The teachers at St Joseph's
attended nursery school training this July and are eagerly awaiting
the next primary school training session in Uganda.
