Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya A
group of 30 teachers from the slum of Kibera received training in
December 2006, May 2007, and November 2007. They graduated with
certificates signed by the Kibera Education Officer, and are improving
the education of almost 1000 orphans and other vulnerable children.
Kampala, Uganda A
group of 43 teachers from 11 schools as far as 3 hours away from
Kampala received training in May 2007, December 2007, and will complete
Session 3 May 2008.
Upper Nile, Sudan A group of 21
teachers from three village schools serving over 2000 children received
two weeks of training in June, 2007. Since that time we have provided
teacher guides for those teachers, and will return whenever the
situation allows.
Mombasa In April, 2008, Dr. Price
is scheduled meet with education officials from several districts in
Mombasa, and complete arrangements for training a group of 250 teachers
currently serving orphans and vulnerable children in non-formal schools
located in the Mombasa slums and outlying rural areas.
