Oromangu lives at home with her mother, her brother and two sisters. Her father died recently.
Her duties at home include fetching water. Even by local standards, her family is destitute, owning fewer than 10 animals and having no source of monetary income. Her family's diet most likely consists of a cup of milk and a bowl of gruel each per day. Oromangu receives a balanced meal at school every day.
Oromangu has shown a talent for English and enjoys school. She attends church and Sunday school and likes playing netball with her friends.
