Amisso lives at home with his mother, brother and two sisters. His father died recently.
He helps his mother by collecting firewood. Even by local standards, his family is noted as being particularly poor. His family's diet most likely consists of a cup of milk and a bowl of gruel each per day. Amisso receives a balanced meal at school every day.
Amisso's best subject at school is Kiswahili. He attends church and Sunday school and likes practicing shooting arrows in his spare time.
