Baaran lives at home with his mother, three brothers and two sisters. His father died recently.
His duties at home include looking after the lambs that his family depends upon for survival. Even by local standards, his family is destitute, owning fewer than 10 sheep and having no source of monetary income. His family's diet most likely consists of a cup of milk and a bowl of gruel each per day. Baaran receives a balanced meal at school every day.
Baaran has shown a talent for Mathematics and enjoys school. He attends church and Sunday school and likes playing soccer with his friends.
